What I liked: - gps functionality with the city map. Saves data and works most of the time - the various routes that are available - background info on sites What I didnt like: - maps in the bought version are not more detailed. They are just high res - no guidance for the walking routes - wrong estimates of how long it would take an average person - the track me function is nice, but faulty (this could really be cool) - no additional information about surroundings, public transportation, places to eat etc
It is a very practical App but it keeps crashing!
One of the major flaws, in my opinion, is very poor rendition of the citys points of interests - for example, only a handful of vaporetto stations is displayed in a city that relies on it as one of the main means of transport. Also, an actual bug - on the citys map, museum are shown only when icon for beaches and nature spots is pressed. Pressed museums button shows basilicas and memorials. Not quite close :) On the other hand, a compass guiding to the selected POI turned out very useful. But general impression is still so-so - a couple of useful tricks is far outweighed by very scarce information.
I feel like I got ripped off. I guess the information is pretty ok on the sites to see and verbal walking directions, the sites are grouped by district which is nice. But the maps are TERRIBLE. You cant zoom in to see the names of streets!! In fact, there arent any street names on any of the maps-- only red dots, as pictured in the example photo. I assumed that I would be able to zoom in and see the street names to help navigate while we are there, but you get nothing but pixellated red dots... This program is almost a complete waste. Definitely not worth the $4.99 that they are charging for it.
This thing is crap! We went to Venice last month and the "find me" app never worked. Wasted $5.
